Report on Elm Park V Greystones 23/02/2020.
Greystones played their rescheduled Eamonn Darcy Trophy match on Sunday 23rd of February in Elm Park Golf Club. Greystones went into the match defending an unbeaten record in this year’s competition and emerged unbeaten as they halved the match with Elm Park with 2.5 points each. Alan Condren, our team captain, and Donal O’Gallagher both won their singles matches and Eddie Lonergan and Niall Gaffney halved their foursomes after a magnificent up and down on 18th to win the hole and square their match.

Congratulations to Alan Condren on winning a silver medal at the European Senior Men’s Team Championship. Alan was the star performer for Ireland returning the best score in the strokeplay and remaining unbeaten throughout the matchplay section.
Next up for Greystones Golf Club’s seniors internationals is Barry O’Leary who has been selected for the Seniors Home Internationals team which will be played in Northumberland from 17 – 19 September. This will be Barry’s third time representing his country. We wish Barry and the team every success in the competition.
Congratulations to both Alan and Barry for representing their club and country so proudly.
Alan Condren is making his debut for the Irish Seniors this week in Denmark. So far Ireland have done brilliantly with Alan having one of the best 36 hole scores in qualifying. Yesterday they beat defending champions Germany in the knockout stages and today we play hosts Denmark in the semi finals. Best of luck Alan. You can follow the matches on the EGA or GUI websites.
