The Greystones Junior Cup team steamrolled their way from the quarter finals into the Leinster semi finals .

Medal 4 presentation
The Mens section held their fourth medal of the year today the 29th June. On a wet and rainy day it was a tough test for everybody.
Tonight our Captain was on hand to present the winners with their rewards. Before Captain Mark McAleer presented today’s winners he congratulated Alan Condren on winning the Leinster Senior Men’s Amateur Open in Enniscorthy this week.
The following were today’s winners:

More interclub action this weekend
Another weekend must mean more interclub matches.
First up early on Sunday morning is Senior Cup qualifying. 9 teams are taking part with best two to qualify. Format is singles strokeplay with 5 players on each team and the best 4 cards to count. Greystones are out first at 7.50am with Bray and Milltown for company. Team is managed by Karl Holmes.
Next up is our Ladies Junior Cup Quarter Final v Dun Laoghaire who will be teeing off at home at 2.10 pm and at away 2.50 Best of luck to all the team
Next up at 3pm will be our Irish Mixed Foursomes team managed by Regina Barry and Paul Keane. The opponents are Milltown and there are 2 matches at home and 2 away. Milltown have the home advantage in case of a playoff.
Our Leinster Men’s Fourball then take to the tee at 3.30pm. Our opponents are Rathfarnham and there are 2 matches at home and 2 away. Greystones have the home advantage in this one so in the event of a playoff it will be in Greystones. Team managed by Gerry Browner.
On Monday at 5pm Jim Wood sends his team out to play Ballinascorney in the Pierce Purcell. There are 2 matches at home and 2 away. Ballinascorney have the home advantage in the case of a playoff.

Winner of Lady Captain Ciaras Prize
Alan Condren wins Leinster title
The Leinster Senior Men’s Amateur Open Championship took place took place on Friday with Alan Condren in the joint lead with Kieran McCarthy (Kinsale).
Alan got off to a good start and was 2 under par through 5 holes. The back nine proved a bit tougher but Alan finished the day with a level par round and a total for the two days of 4 under par which proved to be good enough to win by 3 shots from Karl Bornemann(Douglas).
Our other representative Tom Byrne finished tied 86th

Leinster Senior Men’s Amateur Open Championship
Two Greystones member were entered in the Leinster Senior Men’s Amateur Open Championship which is taking place in Enniscorthy GC. The Championship is over two rounds today and tomorrow. 104 players were on the entry list.
After round 1 Greystones own Alan Condren is tied for the lead with Kieran McCarthy (Kinsale). They are both 4 under par closely followed by Stephen Browne (Hermitage) at 3 under.
Tom Byrne is also in the field and is tied in 90th place.

3rd place for Will O’Riordan at Royal Tara
On the final day of the Leinster U-18s Open Championships at Royal Tara 5 of our young members were representing the club.
The Girls competition were first out. Shauna Seifried was out at 8.10 and Isabella Stewart at 8.40.
Shauna finished tied 21st at 24 over and Isabella tied 19th at 21 over. The Championship was won by Kate Dillon (Oughterard) with a score of one under
The boys were up next with Dylan Holmes out at 9.30, Jamie Anderson at 10.30 and Will O’Riordan out in the 2nd last group at 11.40.
Will put in a fantastic round of 69 which he accomplished by being 4 under for his last 8 holes. This meant WIll finished in a fine 3rd place at 2 under. The winner was Louis Goodman of Co Louth GC at 5 under.
Jamie finished tied for 24th at ten over and Dylan finished tied 28th at 11 over.

5 through to the final round of U-18s Leinster Open Championships
After day 2 of the Leinster U-18s Open Championship 5 Greystones players have made the cut.
In the Girls section Isabella Stewart is tied 9th at 10 over and Shauna Seifried is in 21st place at 15 over. The cut was made at 17 over. The lead is held by Kate Dillon (Oughterard) at 2 under.
In the Boys section three of our five representatives made the cut. Will O’Riordan is our leading light after shooting a 2 under par 70 to finish on 1 over after 2 rounds and is tied 4th going into the final round. Next up is Jamie Anderson who is tied 24 at +7 and then Dylan Holmes at +10 tied 39th.
Unfortunately Toby Murphy and Milo Doyle both missed the cut.

Latest news from Under-18 Leinster Open Championship
In the girls section of the U-18 Leinster Open Championships Isabella Stewart and Shauna Seifried finished the 1st round tied 6th and tied 17th respectively. Isabella shot a 4 over par 76 and Shauna a 7 over par 79. The lead is held by Ellen O’Shaughnessy from Co. Louth with a fabulous score of 4 under. The cut at the moment is predicted at +9.
In the boys section the lead is held by another Co. Louth player, Louis Goodman at 3 under. Both Will O’Riordan and Dylan Holmes are tied 20th after rounds of 3 over(75). Next up is Jamie Anderson at +5, followed by Milo Doyle at +11 and Toby Murphy at +12. The cut is currently predicted at plus 4.
