On a day of glorious sunshine Lisa Croke’s Revive Active Team took on Lucan on Sunday 5 May 2024. The format having changed slightly from last year’s with 2 teams away and 2 teams at home.
With Jean Taylor looking after the team at home, Sophie Lumley our Junior Girl’s Captain and Amanda Lawless were the first to tee off in Greystones and had a comfortable win on the 17th hole winning 2 and 1. Our second pairing in Greystones Shauna Seifried and Sandra Cotter won very comfortably 5 and 3 on the 15th. Sub Anne Browner was on hand to assist Jean and cheer on the team to the bitter end.
Meanwhile in Lucan Jacinta Deane (also the away sub) was looking after the team. Niamh Keilthy and Joyce Kirwan ran away from their opposition with a win for us beating them 5 and 4. Coming up behind them was Jennifer Moore and Áine O’Rourke who were called in on their way up the 18th fairway,no doubt to another victory. That match was halved and Greystones won the first round by a very comfortable 3.5 to 0.5.
Next for Greystones to play will be either Edmondstown or Elm Park which we may not know for another couple of week as Lisa managed to get this match played in a very timely manner
Greystones will be up against Lucan next weekend in Frances Twomey’s Junior Cup Team and no doubt the ladies can produce another sterling performance.
