Round 3 of the Leinster Women’s Challenge Trophy took place on Friday June 21st.
With all 5 matches away, on a tough and long Powerscourt course, the task was certainly never going to be easy.
The panel of Pauline Short Foley, Pamela Fitzgerald, Kathryn McAleer, Avril O’Farrell and Aisling Simmonds stood up to the challenge and romped home with a resounding win. With 3 cards counting, our 56 points was more than enough to beat Powercourt who scored 47 points.
Super sub, Bernie O’Broin, double tasked on the day and did an excellent job as caddy for Kathryn McAleer. Many thanks to Bernie and Fiona Tilson, Regina Connaughton, Geraldine Mulcahy and Herber O’Farrell who kept their players calm and steady on the day.
Right hand assistant manager Deirdre Fitzpatrick was on hand to direct and help and support and Lady Captain Ciara was in attendance supporting also.

In Greystones Grace Dodd got an early win. Two all. Michele Knappp played really well and halved her game on 18th. Back to Ann Clarke, 2 down after 15, won 16 and 17 so all level on 18. Polly, Mary and our supporters afraid to watch! Ann held her nerve and won on 18. Sighs of relief all around.
