A Teamer invite has gone out for the Dermot Wheeler Trophy matchplay. This is a knockout event and will be played throughout the summer, with the boys arranging the matches themselves before the closing date for each round. Matches are played using handicaps and the event is open to Blues only. Please accept or decline the invite by Tuesday 4th July and we will make the draw for the first round thereafter. Any problems with Teamer, please get in touch with any member of the Junior Committee.

Dates set for Junior Boys matches
The Junior Boys have upcoming games in this year’s Golf Ireland interclub events. First up this Sunday May 22nd, is the second round Irish Junior Foursomes tie with Killiney GC. The format is aggregate matchplay with one match at home and away and we tee off at 2pm in what should be a closely contested affair.
Next Sunday May 29th, the Fred Daly team take on Elm Park in the Leinster South Quarter Final. The format is is five singles matches and we have three at home and two away. Again the matches tee off at 2pm. This competition is scratch matchplay with some good golf in prospect against a strong Elm Park outfit.
The boys would welcome your support, home or away for what promises to be another exciting couple of weekends.
Good experience for Isabella Stewart in Portstewart
Isabella teed it up on the Riverside course in Portstewart yesterday for the qualifier of the Ulster Under 18 Matchplay Championship. With only the top sixteen to qualify for the match play it was going to be difficult for the fifteen year old. The qualifier was won by Evelyn Park from Edmonstown who shot a fantastic 66 on the day to win by 4 shots but it was the player from neighbouring Portrush Golf Club, Olivia Currie who eventually lifted the Fred Daly Trophy after the matchplay was completed.
Isabella finished in 26th place in the qualifier with an 83 and played great in the consolation Clandeboye Goblet net event today to finish joint 4th with 35 points.
Isabella still has another three years at this age level !
Well done to Toby Murphy
Well done to our Junior boys in Leinster Under 16’s
Four of our junior boys traveled to Mullingar this week to compete in the Leinster Boys ( U16s ).
Jamie Anderson shot 5 over on Thursday with Dylan Holmes shooting one worse at +6, both making the cut. Unfortunately William O’Riordan and Toby Murphy missed the cut (Toby by a single shot).
On Wednesday Jamie again played some solid golf and maintained his form, shooting a very creditable six over par to finish on +11 and in 23rd place overall in a strong 125 man field.
Dylan had been disappointed with his first round and dug deep on day two to shoot a level par 70, a round that was only bettered on the day by the eventual event winner, Michael Wilson from Massereene Golf Club. Dylan’s score moved him up from 25th after day one to 7th place overall.
Well done to all four Greystones players.
Well done to Mia and her team-mates
