Win for the ladies junior foursomes
Well done to Marguerite Hamill’s Junior Foursomes team who defeated Edmondstown on Monday last (2-1) at Milltown.
Greystones teams in action this weekend
A busy weekend ahead for our teams. First up, the Cullen Cup team (defending champions 2015 and 2016) start their campaign against Borris on Friday with all 5 games at home. The squad are chasing a third successive win in this competition and are now unbeaten since 2014 (a run of 8 successive rounds). Best of luck to Betty, Colm and the panel in chasing a hat trick. The AIG Pierce Purcell Shield gets underway on Saturday with qualifying in Roundwood. The team managed by Padraic Croke will be hoping to go one better than last year after narrowly missing out in the first regional qualifier. Our Metropolitan team are also in action with 9 singles matches against Foxrock (home and away) on Sunday. On the junior side, following the brilliant win last weekend by our under 15s, their senior counterparts play in the Fred Daly on Saturday against Blainroe. Once again, lets hope our teams have a successful weekend and please come out to support the players, caddies and managers.
Big revival by the Revive team
An afternoon of high drama for the Ladies Revive Active team, who staged a dramatic late comeback to see off neighbours Bray 3-2 on Sunday, May 7. Trailing 1-4 for the vast majority of the afternoon and with holes rapidly running out, our 2 home pairs put in strong finishes to win 2 from 2 at home. Away from home however, the real turnaround was performed by Mary Hutch and Haley Mulcahy who were 3 down through 11 but fought back to win 5 of the last 7 holes to ensure our path into the next round. This follows a series of comebacks from our teams already this year. Well done to all panel members and to the manager Ciara Marmion.
Revive and U-15s in action this Sunday
On Sunday next (May 7), the Ladies Revive team, managed by Ciara Marmion play against Bray. There are 2 matches at home with 3 away starting at 1pm. On the juniors side, our Under 15 team, managed by Michael Joyce play Killiney in the 2nd round (trailing 3-2 after the 1st leg) with a 2.10pm start. Please come out to support your club if at all possible.
GGC win a series of narrow matches.
Following a very busy weekend, Greystones came out nearly all intact on the teams front. The displays again showed the resolve and determination that has been a feature of our club in recent years (delivering a number of pennants) with several matches won on Sunday by a single match (and a single hole).
First up, our Metropolitan Cup team (9 singles matches) played superbly to defeat Old Conna 5-4. Next the momentum in our men’s fourball team shows no signs of abating with a fine 3-2 win over Killiney, marking a second successive 3-2 win for the panel and defending Leinster holders.
This was followed by the Irish Mixed champions who overcame our close neighbours Delgany 3-2 (3 away matches) with 2 games won by Greystones on the 18th late on Sunday evening. This was our Mixed team’s first match of the season and next up is either Edmonstown or Djouce.
On Monday, the JB Carr team lost 3-2 against Druids Glen in unseasonal weather with our Super Seniors also losing 3.5 to 1.5 against Knockanally although they can still qualify.
Well done to all the players, caddies and managers on the fine start to 2017. Thanks to all those who turned out to support our teams on Sunday and Monday.

As always, April is a busy period for our teams. Unfortunately, our Barton Cup team lost out against Elm Park on Friday last. Hard luck to Stephen and all of the panel and thanks for their efforts.
Looking ahead, next Sunday promises to be a big day for the club with 3 teams in action including our All Ireland winning Mixed team and the All Ireland men’s fourball runners-up.
Please come out to support the players both home and away.

Barton Cup Vs Elm Park, 14 April
This Friday (April 14) Greystones play their opening FBD Barton Cup match of 2017 against Elm Park. We have 3 matches at home and 2 away. Stephen Cahill has put in a huge amount of effort over the past few months and we wish him and his players the very best on Friday. The matches are due to tee-off from midday. All support welcome.
Another win for Fred Daly team
A mixed weekend for GGC teams. On Friday. our Fred Daly team put in another strong display with a 3-2 win over Woodbrook. There were solid wins by Msssrs Dalton, Hynes and Chris Lawless (on the last).
On the ladies side, there were narrow defeats for our Challenge Cup (2-3 Vs Grange) and Intermediate (2-3 Vs Delgany) teams.
Successful weekend for GGC teams
Greystones have started 2017 like they ended 2016 with a series of impressive wins over the past few days. The ladies junior foursomes overcame Grange Castle in Carrickmines . This was helped by strong wins from Via Maune and Laura Langrell (6&4) and Helga Hayden-Smyth (on her comeback) and Roisin Norris (4&3). On the men’s side, the Leinster Fourball 2016 champions somehow managed to turn around what looked like a certain (heavy) defeat into victory against Rathfarnham. Trailing for most of the day, an heroic win in extra holes by Messrs Gaughran and Bracken ensured the narrowest of winning margins (3-2). Our JB Carr team also won last week and the Darcy team are through into the last 4. Huge congratulations to all our teams, managers, players and of course Paul on a fantastic start to 2017.
