We held the inaugural Billy Reilly Memorial Trophy competition for Blues on Saturday. Billy was a former Junior Convenor and was instrumental in establishing what is now our Junior Section over 40 years ago. Billy passed away in 2021 and his wife Erika and three sons, William, Gerhard and Stephen wanted to mark his contribution to Junior golf in Greystones GC and very generously donated a beautiful trophy which our Blues category will play for every year.
We were delighted to welcome Erika to the clubhouse on Saturday evening to present the trophy and prizes with our Captain Mark and President John, both huge supporters and advocates of our Junior Section. Our illustrious former Captain and President, Pat O’Neill, was also on hand and it was great to hear him speak so fondly about Billy and his contribution to Greystones GC over the years.
Congratulations to Ruadhán Murray who is the first winner of Billy’s trophy with a brilliant score of 44 points. Playing off a handicap of 7, Ruadhán shot an incredible round of one under par 68 to take the trophy home in style! Well done Ruadhán on an amazing round of golf! Great scores also from Daniel and Aoife, well done guys.

Leinster Girls U18 Inter-Provincial Panel:
Well done to Shauna Seifried and Isabella Stewart who were selected in the Leinster U-18 panel. We look forward to seeing you both in action for the province over the coming weeks! Congrats ladies!
Shauna continued her great summer of golf with a convincing 7&6 win in her match for the Ladies Junior Cup Team on Sunday to help them to a win over Arklow, and then had a 2&1 win today as the Ladies Revive Team beat Edmonstown.
Barton Cup:
We had three junior members playing for the men’s Barton Cup team in the match against Powerscourt yesterday. The two Dylans (Holmes and Cavazza) won comfortably playing at home on the 13th hole, while Ruadhán was playing with Alan Keane away in Powerscourt and they won their match on 16. So a clean sweep for the boys! Beech Park up next in a few weeks.
Fred Daly:
We play Carton House in the next round of the Fred Daly this Saturday. We have three matches away and two at home. First tee time in Greystones is at 2.45pm and it would be great to see some of our younger Juniors up supporting the guys.
