Junior Boys’ Captain Dylan Holmes and Jamie Anderson both teed it up in The Scottish Boys’s which took place last week at the Irvine Course in Ayrshire.
The 72 hole competition took place from Wednesday to Friday in extremely tough conditions and had attracted an stellar international field.
Round one saw Dylan shoot an uncharactersistc 82 which included a triple and quadruple on the back nine. Unusually for him also, Jamie shot the same score in the opening round. To be fair to the two lads the conditions were very difficult with only one player managing to beat par on the day.
Jamie played much better on day two but unfortunately his putter was stone cold and his 3 over 74 had him ultimately miss the cut by 4 shots.
Dylan turned on the style on day two however shooting a brilliant 5 under par 66 and a two round total of +6 to comfortably make the cut (+10). Dylan’s two rounds on Friday of 74, 74 had him finish 17th and comfortably within the top twenty.
Two French players finished first and second, Louka Morin finished at the top pf the leaderboard on +3 with Alexandre Godin second on +4. England’s William Partner finished third two shots further back.
