Well done to all of our prize winners in our first major of 2023, the Professionals Prize, with the main Blues prize won by Tom Murphy who had a great score of 41 points. We had 51 boys and girls playing and there was a great atmosphere in the Clubhouse after for food and Davie’s prizegiving. Having merged the girls and boys section this year for the first time, it was great to see Lili, Aoife and Vanessa winning the Reds, Whites and 7Up main prizes, and Sophie taking home the Blues gross prize. Well done ladies!
Special thank you to our professional Davie Lewis, and our Boys Junior Captain, Jamie Anderson, for a great prizegiving. Also to Ali, Liz and the catering team for feeding everybody, and Paul and Alan behind the bar.
Out of 37 boys and girls playing Reds, Whites and 7Ups yesterday, there are 4 handicap cuts and 5 category changes. There was some great scoring in difficult conditions and it is great to see the progress everybody is making after just 2 months of competitions. Please take Davie’s comments on board and encourage your sons and daughters to get up to the Club to practice more between competitions!
Normal competition next Saturday followed by a week off on 15 July as the Mens Captain’s Prize is taking place. Our next major, President Marguerite Hamill’s prize for the Juniors, will take place on Saturday, 29 July.
