Well done to Tim Hazleton, Dermot Whiston, Pete Murray and their Old Conna Seniors team who got off to a winning start this evening when the beat Kilmashogue in a very tight match.
WIth best five four ball score from six to count it looked ominous after the first three cards came in, with Greystones behind by eleven points. The next two cards in were stronger for Greystones and we had edged ahead by two points.
It all came down to the last card and, as it turned out, the last hole however. Kilmashogue held a twenty foot putt for birdie but, thankfully, Gearoid McKenna held a putt that was not much shorter for par which was enough to close the overall match in Greystones’ favour.
The final score was 218 to 221 ( including the away team 5 shot bonus ). All the Greystones pairs performed well, recording scores of 41, 39, 43, 45, 45 & 47
Many congratulations to all involved tonight.
