Well done to Garry Campbell who was crowned Golfer of the Year 2022 On Saturday after the last qualifying event of the calendar. Garry won Medal 4, was a semi-finalist in President Neville Galloway’s Prize and won his Class Cup to score a 280 points total. Padraig O’Regan was the only player who could have caught Garry but in the end it was Garry who won out. Garry was 90 points ahead of Padraig at close of play with John Commons just 10 behind in third after his runner up spot in President Neville’s prize and winning his Class Cup final. James Hempenstall another 10 points behind in forth. Ronnie Cotter, who had lead the GOTY table for a good number of weeks finished a very creditable fifth just 5 points behind James. In joint sixth place were, Captain’s Prize winner Quentin Teggin, Scratch Cup winner Adam Packman, Daniel P. Ryan and Julian Keown. Joe Aherne rounded out the top ten positions. Another close finish this year, many congratulations to Garry on a fine year’s golfing.
Apologies to John Commons for missing him out in the original round up.
