Congratulations to all the winners and supporters of yesterday’s charity day which went off without a hitch as you would expect with Karl & Davie running the show. Fifty Two teams played on the day on our course, which was presented immaculately by Keith Clancy and his team and which was complimented by members and visitors alike.
The course played tough in breezy conditions and it took a great score from Dave Mangan’s team to take first prize. Dave played with his son, Brook, Kevin Kiernan and regular visitor to Greystones the great Barry Nestor. Dave pipped the perennial winners of these type of events, David Byrne and his team into second place while Linda Walsh’s team took the final podium spot.
The event also got fantastic support from prize sponsors including Titleist, Ping, Taylor Made, Barry Nestor, Mark Wyse, Rock’s Jewelers, David Lewis Golf, Karl Holmes Golf and needless to say, it wouldn’t be a Greystones Charity Golf day without an ice-cream van from Jonathan & Joyce Kirwan and a burger from Bliss Cuisine.
In his few words after the event, Karl paid special tribute to our captain, Danny Hatton (RIP), who had played in every one of these events over the past 14 years and was sadly missed last night at the event.
A massive thank you to all those who participated on the day and contributed to this wonderful cause, Crumlin Hospital Research.
