Hard luck for the Boys’ Under 18 Interclub Team who, having qualified for the Leinster South finals last month, headed to Royal Curragh this morning.
The format of this competition is nett stableford, with five players and the three best cards counting. Our team put in a very creditable performance under the watchful gaze of Ben Crowley. Our two low men Jamie Anderson and Jack McGovern shot 30 points and 35 points respectively. Toby Murphy who is just back from a broken arm shot 33 points. Next came Marc Lawless who delivered 39 points and last but definitely not least, Milo Doyle shot a round of 41 points.
So scores from Jack, Marc and Milo gave us a total of 115 points. With two to qualify from 12 teams you might be forgiven for thinking this might have had a chance but unbelievable scores of 130 from Bray and 124 from Clontarf meant that our lads would not progress on this occassion.
Hard luck to Davie and all the lads who put in a great effort.
